Life Preserver

WHAT’S ALL THIS “SAVING” STUFF ABOUT?

ROMANS 10:9 (KJV)

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

That’s all it takes to start your journey with Him. You don’t have to be perfect first then get to know Him. He already knows you, you just need to open the door and let Him in.

If you want to open the door, speak it out loud wherever you are at, right now:

“Jesus is Lord. I believe with my whole heart that he was born, died on the cross for all, including me, and was resurrected from the dead by God for my salvation. I am saved.”

It’s really not that hard to do. It’s a simple proclamation that you can’t do this life alone. Stop trying to do it alone, God never intended for you to do it all yourself. It’s not giving up or giving in, it’s realizing you’re tired and worn out and need Him so you can live life fully.

NOW WHAT?

Find a church. If you aren’t already hooked up with a local to you church, FIND ONE. They will help you in your growth in Christ. We know, it might be a little uncomfortable if you have never set foot inside a church. You might shock some people by going to one. Let them be shocked. We can promise one thing, the church won’t catch fire because you set foot in it.

That’s what this is all about, growing in Him. Growth means change. Change means stretching. It might be a little uncomfortable but the ending is spectacular and well worth it. You need to surround yourself with people who have the same goal and who will support you and pray for you because the enemy will make it very apparent that he is after you. If you go to one church and just aren’t feeling it, go to another one until you find the one you know you belong in. The enemy will try and cause confusion and trip you up but with a church to back you and God on your side, the enemy can’t have you. Jesus isn’t just in your corner, He’s in the front fighting for you. Our responsibility is to continually seek Him. We can’t promise this walk is going to be easy. We can’t promise you won’t have doubts. We can say that if you take one step, God takes ten. Keep on keeping on.
